We have had class discussions, notes, and we watched a documentary called 'A Little Fellow From Gambo' (viewable on the NFB website with a simple Google search in case you missed it). Today we started a Google Classroom assignment. Students are to respond to questions in a Google Slideshow that was shared with everyone. If you've missed any class, everything you need to get caught up is in the Google Class.

We discussed Malalya Yousafzai and Human Rights Issues like right to an education, as well as Canadian Journalist, Mohammed Fhamy who had been detained in Egypt. We also discussed cultural tradition and beliefs and the importance of being tolerant to other beliefs.

In view of the glorious sunny weather, I decided to postpone my previously-planned lesson in favour an outdoor lab activity - we went out to Kenny's Pond to make field observations in Part I of a lab on the water quality and health of the pond's ecosystem. No homework assigned. Also: Tonight is the third annual MDJH Sky Gazing night! All science students are invited to drop by, anytime between 7:30 and 8:30, to look at the moon through the school's telescope, use apps on the school's ipad to help identify stars and constellations, and share some hot chocolate.
