Therefore, students will have to read their novels at home as well. We have begun a 'Digital Citizenship' unit in English. Students were given a sample test and exemplar answers as a guide to show what will be expected of them. This is a reminder that our test on the Step-Up unit will be on Friday, October 14th. The independent novel assignment is due on Monday, October 17th. If students are having a difficult time creating a 'Wanted Poster' for the main character, they may instead create a visual of their favorite scene from the novel. We discussed making text connections and wrote a well-developed paragraph in class(a guide was provided). We also discussed Malala and wrote a journal on how she 'stepped up' and made a contribution to society. The assignment for the first independent novel has been given to students. This involves writing a paragraph which includes the TAG ( title, author, genre) of the novel and a brief summary. As well, a description of a chosen character and an explanation of why he or she is important to the story must be included. This must include a visual and will be presented in class. This project is due on Monday, October 17th and must be completed at home. Mathematics Assigned By: Amanda Glynn Today, we worked on Vocabulary for Chapter 1 - up to 'la priorite des operations'.
