Students also asked so many questions that they inflicted upon themselves advance knowledge about the structure of the Earth and the nature of the scientific evidence for it. Since they really wanted to know, I allowed them to 'derail' me from today's lesson and answered all their questions - this very topic is the first one in the next Carnet, so they are now ahead of that game!

Paragraph five is the concluding paragraph which sums up either the change in Declan from the start of the story or a general view of Declan.

3. All phones are put on vibrate.
4.Classroom lights are turned off.
5. Everyone remains quiet so it would appear that the class was unoccupied.

We do this to avoid attracting attention to the classroom in the event of an intruder in the school or school area.

I'm now able to post on the homework page. I use this as a method to communicate with my students and their parent or guardian.

We are currently working on a descriptive paragraph. Student have chosen a topic and have been given class time to work on this. they have the following photocopies:

1. A list of descriptive words to assist them on word choice.
2. A blank sense chart to help them remember to use all five senses in their paragraph. Students have a sample chart to use as an example.
3. A sample of what descriptive paragraphs and writing looks like.
4. A template of level one to level five writing criteria.
5. The descriptive writing assignment sheet.
6. A descriptive paragraph title page which is where students will draw the picture they are describing.

We will finish the descriptive paragraph on Thursday. Students who have finished this assignment will read silently during this time.
