Today, we read an article in the textbook (page 47) about a young entreprenur. We connected this to our entrepreneur projects and had a good discussion! Students spent the remainder of the period working on these projects.

a) Draw their design on paper and do an in-person presentation
b) Use WeVideo and both design their project and online and do a video presentation
c) Physically build or demonstrate their product or service and do a WeVideo OR in-person presentation.

The soft due date for these projects is next Friday, January 26. I will reflect on this date as I see student progress and work.

Students also received grades on PowerSchool for family budget activities last week. Some marks were based on incomplete work. Students will receive these back next week (once the invention/entrepreneur projects are complete) and once we review, will have the opportunity to resubmit and edit if they wish.

Hello,

I apologize from my time away from the homework page. I was away at the Dept. of Education and then staying home with a sick child. So glad to be back!

Great class today. Mr. Anstey (my intern) taught his first class today. The group asked great questions and worked well on their worksheets.

Starting on Friday, students will begin a small assignment on a video game 'Over the Top'. Chromebooks will be booked for students to complete this work.

Rubrics for empowerment projects were passed back as well. Marks had been placed on PowerSchool over a week ago. I appreciate your patience with the late return due to my absence.

Today, students received back their Historical Method assignments with feedback and a rubric. Part of learning (maybe the most important aspect) is to learn to carefully, edit, review and reflect on your work.

Students had the period to go through their work, fix any mistakes or accidental omission (for ex: a section left out) and re-submit. It is my plan to re-grade on Wednesday and place updated marks on PowerSchool at that time.

Students will need to:
a) Complete the self-assessment rubric (and pass it back in to me)
b) Press 'TURN IN' on Google Classroom so I know their work is ready for a final review.

This was an optional activity and students did not have to re-submit for a mark, but did take part in the review process.
