Every student (7-2 and 7-4) has now received feedback and comments on each of their questions in the Chapter 5 Workbook. There is also a comment in GradeBook for this chapter indicating your progress. It will use one of 5 key terms (mastery, achieving, approaching, emerging, not yet met) to determine your progress at this point. Be sure to also look at the Standards-Based rubric (which we reviewed in class) to see what this means in your work. You do, of course, have time and opportunity to edit your work so it shows what you know. We will also be conferencing and meeting to discuss your progress.

We will spend two more classes on this unit (finishing on Thursday morning in 7-2, finishing on Friday afternoon in 7-4). At that point I will mark this work.

You will get two marks: one for your mapping (learning goals 1 and 2) and one for your written work (learning goals 3, 4 and 5).

Following this, we will be moving onto Chapter 7 next week!

Today, students received back their Historical Method assignments with feedback and a rubric. Part of learning (maybe the most important aspect) is to learn to carefully, edit, review and reflect on your work.

Students had the period to go through their work, fix any mistakes or accidental omission (for ex: a section left out) and re-submit. It is my plan to re-grade on Wednesday and place updated marks on PowerSchool at that time.

Students will need to:
a) Complete the self-assessment rubric (and pass it back in to me)
b) Press 'TURN IN' on Google Classroom so I know their work is ready for a final review.

This was an optional activity and students did not have to re-submit for a mark, but did take part in the review process.

Today, we did a mapping activity; investigating our pre-existing geographical knowledge of Canada and the location of our oceans, provinces and territories. Students attempted this task independently and then with the aid of friends to help collectively complete the map.

Towards the end of the period, we filled in remaining sections and the sheet was passed back to me while we all get our course materials.
